Categories and Rules
The categories are:
Individual Interview
Interview is seven (7) minutes per contestant. Scoring is done comparatively for each judge where they must rank contestants in their assigned placements (i.e., 1st, 2nd, 3rd). Generally, interview is worth a possible 12 points possible per judge.
Talent
Talent is any presentation up to seven (7) minutes in length. Generally, Talent is worth a possible 24 points per judge and is comparative.
Evening Gown
Evening Gown category can be any style of evening gown provided that it is full length. There are no stipulations on hair or accessories other than they must match and compliment the gown. Generally, evening gown is worth a possible 12 points per judge and is comparative.

Rules & Regulations :
1. For Miss Gay USofA at Large, contestants must be males. Contestants must be 21 years old by the National Pageant to enter Miss Gay USofA at Large. All contestants should be prepared to present a valid, non-expired, state issued ID at registration. Contestants may not compete until the identification is presented.
2. Contestants must weigh 200 pounds to compete in Miss Gay USofA at Large. All contestants should be prepared to be weighed during registration. Any contestant that does not weigh 200 pounds will not be allowed to compete in the contest.
3. Judging will be on a total point accumulated system. Score sheets will be provided by USofA Pageants. Ties will be broken by the contestant with the higher score in the talent category.
4. Contestants will be judged in the following categories: Personal Interview, Talent, and Evening Gown.
5. Talent presentation will be limited to seven (7) minutes. Prop setup and teardown will be limited to five (5) minutes total. Talent presentations will be timed at rehearsals. Presentations over seven (7) minutes will have administrative points deducted.
6. Any type of talent presentation is acceptable except those that cause injury to the audience or any other person, No excessive glitter, fire or water may be used in any talent presentation.
7. The use or dispensing of illegal drugs or marijuana will not be tolerated while a contestant is participating in the Official Miss Gay USofA at Large Pageant. Immediate disqualification will result for those who break this rule.
8. Any contestant that is not at the appointed place at the appointed time will lose administrative points.
9. Any contestant, contestant’s dancer(s), helper(s), etc. who is caught in the act of stealing or tampering with another person's property will be disqualified and removed from the location of the Pageant.
10. The Official Miss Gay USofA at Large Pageant does not discriminate against entertainers with silicone and/or hormones. The use of silicone and/or hormones will not be considered by any judge scoring the contestants.
11. Once a contestant has placed 1st Runner-up in a Preliminary Pageant they may not compete in another preliminary pageant in the same system. They must go to the national pageant with that placement.
12. USofA Pageants and Craig Henderson reserve the right to make any decision concerning any matter not covered by these Rules and Regulations
